GIS Analysis

NatCanSat have sophisticated GIS analytical skills. These range from simple mapping techniques, to advanced analysis used in specifying optimum service locations. They specialise in providing detailed analysis for the NHS when new locations for services are being tendered or services re-located.

A few examples of GIS work that NatCanSat have produced include:

  • Maps of any Service Locations or Boundaries (such as GP practices, Hospitals, SHA/PCT Boundaries etc).
  • Mapping of patients attending services, and the effect of re-locating the service on the patients’ Drive Time/Travel Distance. (eg: re-locating a GP practice.)
  • Mapping HES Data or other Hospital Data, and showing catchment areas for a variety of services (e.g. Radiotherapy, Paediatric Cardiac Surgery, etc).
  • Quantifying the effect on the population of a new secondary/tertiary care service or re-locating an existing one. Demonstrating both the effect on Drive Time, and increase/decrease of activity for the centre.

Any data that can be attributed to a postcode, or an area can be mapped and analysed.

We have a range of pre-created maps, that we can share with NHS staff or we offer large scale printing/laminating. We also offer bespoke mapping and analysis specific to your requirements.

If you would like to see any examples of previous work in more detail, or if you would like to discuss a possible GIS Project/Map, please contact Tracey Ellison via email or 0870 840 8033 ext 7.
